Variable barcodes can change dynamically depending on the entered information. The product lookup number (PLU) and price are embedded within the barcode.

There are three variable barcode types using an embedded price:

1. 12 Digit Price Barcode

  • Embedded price up to $99.99

2. 13 Digit Price Barcode

  • Embedded price up to $999.99
  • POS system must read 13 digit barcodes

3. 13 Digit Price Barcode (EAN)

  • No check digit for price
  • Embedded price up to $999.99
  • POS system must read 13 digit barcodes

Choose which variable weight barcode to use in a printer profile from the layout designer feature editor.
