Allergen icons can be added to the portal to display on a printer profile. Icons are triggered when allergen keywords are included in the ingredients and allergens fields for that menu item.

There are three steps to set up allergen icons in the portal:

1. Edit Allergen Icons in Settings

1. Log in to the portal at www.datecodegenie.com using the recommended browser. See What Internet Browser Should I Use To Access My DateCodeGenie® Portal?

2. Click on the Settings tab on the sidebar.

3. Scroll down to Allergen Icons. Click the Add Icon button to add a new allergen icon, or click the edit button (pencil icon) to update an existing.

4. Update or select icon.

NOTE

Icon must be:

  • Saved in black and white
  • PNG or JPEG file
  • Tightly cropped

5. Click the All Locations checkbox to at all locations, or search locations in the search bar and click to add.

6. Type allergen keywords into the Allergen Keywords textbox, separated by commas.

7. Click the Save button.

2. Add Ingredients and Allergens Lists to Menu Items

1. Click on the Menu Items tab on the sidebar.

2. Click the Edit button (pencil icon) for a menu item or create a new item, see What is a Menu Item and How Do I Add or Edit?

3. Scroll down to Nutritional Information. Type in Ingredients and Allergens into the text fields as desired, separated by commas.

NOTE

Ingredients and allergens must match the keywords in settings to generate the allergen icon on the printer profile.

4. Scroll up and click the Save Changes button.

The icon trigger word must be written in for allergen icon to appear.

3. Add Allergen Icon Feature to Printer Profiles

Add the Allergen Icons feature in the layout designer under the Other group and add to label profile as needed. Set up printer profiles, see Printer Profiles.

NOTE

This feature will display black if chosen menu item allergen icon keywords are not included in the ingredients and allergen fields.
